COVID-19 (coronavirus disease 2019) is an illness caused by a virus. This virus is a new coronavirus that has spread throughout the world. There are now two authorized and recommended vaccines to prevent COVID-19 in the United States. The vaccines are being used under an Emergency Use Authorization (EUA) from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA). The FDA found that the vaccines met the scientific standards for safety, effectiveness, and manufacturing quality needed to support EUAs.

Right now, the supply of the vaccines is limited. So it will take some time for everyone to be able to get vaccinated. Each person needs two doses of the vaccine. This page includes details about the vaccines and the vaccination program.
