    Abstract: The J. Hillis Miller Health Science Center at the University of Florida includes colleges of Pharmacy, Medicine, Nursing, Health-Related Professions, Dentistry, and Veterinary Medicine. The archives collects and preserves historical material relating to all of these colleges. The History Center also collects material on the history of southern medical education, particularly Florida, and the history of education in the health professions in general. Also, the collection includes a growing number of oral history interviews, a collection started by Samuel Proctor and continued to the present day. This collection includes many individuals involved in the founding of the Health Science Center.
    Holdings: Holdings are chiefly manuscript collections containing administrative records, faculty papers, catalogs, yearbooks, and photographs. There is a developing special collection of manuscripts and printed material relating to the history of health professions education in the south, particularly Florida.

    Abstract: The Bascom Palmer Eye Institute is a non profit educational, research, and patient care facility, which is part of the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine. Rare and historical book collection dates back to 1496; journal collection to the early 1800s. Only eye and vision related material. SERVICES: Interlibrary loan (Docline and OCLC), advisory and reference services; may charge for photocopies.
    Holdings: 208 periodical titles (all eye and vision-related) dating back to first volumes. Extensive ophthaalmic historical collection.

    Abstract: The bulk of the history of medicine collection at SDSU is made up of books donated by SDSU professor Calvert Norland. These books focus on a variety of subjects in the history of medicine, but have a wealth of information on malaria.
    Holdings: Approximately 200 volumes relating specifically to the history of medicine and a manuscript collection with ephemeral and artwork items relating to the history of medicine. The bulk of the collection is 19th and 20th century monographs. There are no incunabula.

Guedel Memorial Anesthesia Center, a component society of the California Society of Anesthesiologists is a voluntary nonprofit corporation organized "for the advancement of education and science and to promote interest in anesthesia." Founded in 1963, the Center is dedicated to the memory of Dr. Arthur E. Guedel, a pioneer of anesthesiology in the western United States. The Center’s library maintains a collection of books, journals, artifacts and equipment on historical developments in anesthesiology. The Center is involved in the restoration, cataloging, and display of equipment of historical interest and has a particular interest in digitization of archival materials to enhance preservation and accessibility of resources. SERVICES: Collections are available to interested researchers by appointment. Research and document delivery services are provided on a fee-based arrangement. All fees must be pre-paid by U. S. check, cash or money order.
    Holdings: The Arthur E. Guedel Memorial Anesthesia Center collection includes older monographs and journals. Archival materials include correspondence, manuscripts, reports, and photographs. Artifacts include anesthesia equipment, plaques, and Ecuadorian native artifacts from the Richard Cochrane Gill Expedition. Holdings also include a number of the John W. Pender Collection of the Living History of Anesthesiology produced by the Wood Library-Museum of Anesthesiology.
