The collections, which include oral histories, rare books, photographs, artifacts, and a New Mexico/Southwest monograph collection, are available for use by the general public in the New Mexico Health Historical Collections room as well as through interlibrary loan (depending on the condition of the item requested). SERVICES: Researchers may request photocopies of materials. Some materials cannot be copied due to its condition and/or other restriction. Please see our Procedures for Using the collection which is attached and is posted on our website at <a href="http://hslic.unm.edu/webforms/archives.html" > http://hslic.unm.edu/webforms/archives.html</a>. Holdings: Cataloged holdings include more that 150 oral histories with health care professionals working in the state starting from the early 1900s, approximately 200 photograph collections that date from the late 1890s to the present, and the New Mexico/Southwest Collection of more than 800 books, reports, and presentations. In adddition, the repository holds the New Mexico Medical Society Records, 1905-present; many materials on the subject of tuberculosis in the west including the newly preocessed Carl H. Gellenthien Collection of the Valmora Industrial [Tuberculosis] Sanatorium, 1904-1989; and records currently being processed from the Lovelace Foundation for Medical Education and Research, 1947-1980.
