The wax anatomical models, representing common medical conditions in the 18th and 19th centuries, were purchased in Europe by Dr. Josiah Nott [1804-1873] and brought to Mobile, Alabama, in October 1860. The library provides reference service and consulting in the reading room; as well as photocopying service, bibliographic commutation and interlibrary loan.
